How To Start A Blog
Are you looking for a free, easy, step-by-step guide on how
to start a blog?
In your mind, how did I start a blog? There’s so much
info out there on the web, and different websites or videos telling you to do
different things before or when you start a blog. Who do you should follow that
will lead you to start a blog? I used to face the same issue too! But now I can
guide you on how to start a blog. If you have any questions while starting a
blog, you can send me an email!
My free guide on this page will show you how to create a
blog that is beautiful and functional, all in an easy step-by-step tutorial. Here we go!!!!!
Step 1:Choose a niche before you start a blog
To be successful as a blogger there is really just one
requirement: a passion for your topic. So, take a paper list down what is your passion about. (At least 4 ) Then, you need to use Google Trend to check this niche statistic is a trend. You also can use Google Keyword Planner check this niche is a high competitive or low competitive.
Step 2:Choose a platform to start a blog
Choosing where you want to build a blog is the first thing
you have to do. I assume you are new to this, so I will introduce a few
platforms to start a blog! You can select one of them as your wish. Before we start on which platform you should know this as well.
Self-hosting or a free alternative
You won’t be able to get your own domain name
On a free blog, your blog’s web address (your URL) will be look as these
xxx.blogspot.com
xxx.wordpress.com
Limits and more limits
There are some limits to free blogs. You can’t fully monetize it, and you don’t have the possibility to upload all those videos and images you want to show everyone – it’s all limited. Worse still, you won’t even have access to the free themes offered by WordPress.
You DON’T OWN your blog
I understand what you think, but the fact is you don’t actually own your blog. (this is what I have the same reaction as you, but anyway you are still able to make it self host once you have extra money to do so.) It’s hosted on someone else’s web property and they can delete it if they want to. They have done so in the past, and keep doing it in the future. Which means all your hard work on your blog, all those countless hours of writing blog posts might have vanished within seconds.
1. Wordpress
Simplicity: WordPress allows you to publish and build your
website content quickly. Even as a beginner, you can easily use WordPress.
The cost is free – The actual WordPress software available
on WordPress.org is free to download and use. You will, however, need to pay
for web hosting and a domain name.
Flexibility: WordPress allows you to create many types of
websites from personal blogs and online stores to online magazines and
newspapers.
Easy to use – If you can use a word processing software like
Microsoft Word, you can use WordPress to build and manage a website.
Open-source software – WordPress is open-source software
that is licensed under the GNU General Public License (GPL), meaning it isn’t
owned by a single company or entity. Hundreds of developers and users
collaborate and contribute to the software to make it better. The spirit of
open-source means constant improvements, accountability and free usage for
everyone.
No need to know code – WordPress removes the requirement of
needing to know how to code in order to build a website. While WordPress
utilizes a variety of coding languages, there’s no need to know any of them to
use WordPress.
Extendable with WordPress plugins – The core WordPress
software can be extended with WordPress plugins. WordPress plugins are bits of
software that you can upload to your website to add more features (such as
e-commerce, SEO, backups, contact forms and more). There are thousands of free
WordPress plugins available on the WordPress.org plugin directory and a
thriving premium (paid) plugins industry.
Highly customizable with WordPress themes – WordPress themes
provide the design and layout of your website. With a click of a button, you
can change the entire look of your website by applying a new WordPress theme.
More advanced WordPress themes are more like WordPress page builders, giving
you even more control of your layouts.
Website security – While no website platform is 100% secure,
WordPress security continues to improve with a vigilant security team of core
developers and users. Common WordPress security issues are usually due to user
error, rather than the software itself.
A thriving community of users and developers – When you have
a WordPress website, you can also get involved in the greater WordPress
community through your local WordPress Meetup, WordCamps and more. The
WordPress community has a reputation of being incredibly welcoming, helpful and
innovative.
A premium plugin and theme industry – While there are loads
of free plugins and themes, most serious WordPress website owners invest in
premium (paid) plugins or themes. Why? Your purchase of a reputable premium
plugin or theme helps pay for the ongoing development and support of the plugin
or theme, including new features, security patches and more.
This is for you have knowledge for wordpress but still new
2.Blogger
My first blog I chose is blogger and why not wordpress
because I thought I needed to pay for it, so I gave up on wordpress (Haizz,
because of my failure research of it). You can select Blogger or Wordpress as
your wish. Both of them are completely free.
If you need your own domain you need to buy, they did not provide free domain. And if you are use free which you need is under their blog. For example,www.xxx.blogspot.com
